Husqvarna, the renowned Swedish motorcycle manufacturer, has officially launched the 2024 Svartpilen 401 in India, showcasing significant updates and enhancements in its latest iteration.
Design Revamp
The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 maintains its signature rugged aesthetic while incorporating notable design changes. A larger round LED headlight, adorned with an LED ring, takes center stage. The bike’s proportions have been refined for a more pronounced appearance, featuring redesigned side panels and an ornamental visor on the fascia. The side-mounted exhaust has been replaced by a sleek underbelly setup reminiscent of the new KTM 390 Duke, and the single-side mounted tyre hugger gives way to a more comprehensive tail setup. Noteworthy is the adoption of a new trellis frame, borrowed from its Austrian sibling, contributing to the bike’s overall appeal.
Performance Prowess
The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is equipped with a robust 398.6cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 46bhp at 9,000rpm and 39Nm at 7,000rpm. The powerplant is coupled with a six-speed gearbox and features a bi-directional quickshifter for seamless gear changes. Drawing inspiration from the KTM 390 Duke, the electronic aids include ride-by-wire, traction control, Supermoto ABS, and a host of features, such as a five-inch TFT display with optional smartphone connectivity and a convenient type-C charging port.
Advanced Hardware and Features
The motorcycle rides on adjustable WP Apex USD front forks and an adjustable WP Apex monoshock, ensuring a dynamic and controlled riding experience. The braking system comprises a 320mm front and a 240mm rear disc, complemented by dual-channel ABS. The Svartpilen 401 rolls on 17-inch spoke wheels fitted with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear Pirelli block pattern tires. With a 13.5-litre fuel tank, the bike weighs in at 171.2kg, striking an optimal balance between agility and stability.
